JOB SUMMARY
Surrey Hospitals Foundation is seeking a creative, organized, and collaborative Marketing Graphic Design Specialist to support the Foundation’s marketing, communications, fundraising, and community engagement initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing visual design, website content, print materials, and digital marketing initiatives that strengthen the Foundation’s brand and community presence. This role serves as the primary resource for graphic design and visual communications within the Marketing and Communications team.

Working closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications, Communications and Content Manager, and Social Media and Content Specialist, the successful candidate will help bring campaigns, donor recognition initiatives, events, and storytelling to life through compelling and engaging visual design.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on creative professional with strong graphic design expertise, experience coordinating website and digital content updates, and an understanding of modern marketing and communications practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Graphic Design and Brand Execution
  • Coordinate and execute graphic design projects across digital and print platforms
  • Develop creative assets for campaigns, fundraising initiatives, donor recognition, events, reports, presentations, signage, advertisements, and community engagement materials
  • Design compelling visual content for social media, digital communications, and marketing campaigns
  • Maintain consistency with the Foundation’s brand standards and visual identity
  • Organize and maintain templates, design files, and creative asset libraries

Website Coordination and Management
  • Coordinate and implement website updates using a content management system such as WordPress
  • Maintain website content to ensure accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and brand alignment
  • Support ongoing improvements to website structure, layout, and user experience
  • Coordinate with external vendors or developers for advanced technical support as required
  • Monitor website functionality and support ongoing improvements to the Foundation’s digital presence

Digital Marketing and SEO Support
  • Support digital marketing initiatives through creative asset development and campaign coordination
  • Apply SEO best practices including metadata, keyword optimization, image optimization, and content formatting
  • Assist with email marketing, digital advertising, and promotional campaigns as required
  • Support tracking and reporting of website and digital engagement analytics
  • Contribute ideas to strengthen online visibility, donor engagement, and audience reach

Print and Publication Coordination
  • Coordinate the design, layout, and production of printed materials including brochures, newsletters, annual reports, event materials, signage, and promotional collateral
  • Prepare print-ready files that meet production specifications and brand standards
  • Liaise with external printers, vendors, and production partners as required
  • Support the coordination and distribution of Foundation publications and marketing materials
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and accuracy across all printed and published materials

Content and Multimedia Support
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to support content creation and campaign execution
  • Support storytelling initiatives through creative visual design and multimedia content
  • Assist with basic video content creation and editing for campaigns, events, and social media initiatives as needed
  • Support photography coordination and image management where required

Donor and Community Engagement Support
  • Support donor recognition initiatives through thoughtful and engaging visual design
  • Assist in the development of campaign materials that support fundraising and stewardship activities
  • Contribute creative ideas that strengthen community awareness, donor engagement, and Foundation visibility

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in graphic design and marketing communications

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating graphic design, branding, and digital content work
  • Experience managing website content using WordPress or similar CMS platforms
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing and SEO best practices
  • Strong understanding of layout, typography, branding, and visual storytelling
  • Excellent organizational and project coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative communication skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high quality work

PREFERRED ASSETS
The following would be considered assets:
  • Experience with video content creation and editing
  • Photography and photo editing experience
  • Motion graphics or animation skills
  • Experience in donor engagement, fundraising communications, healthcare, or nonprofit marketing
  • Understanding of print production and publication coordination
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Flexibility and adaptability, adjusts quickly to changing situations; copes effectively with complexity and change

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This is a Full-Time position based out of the Surrey Hospitals Foundation office located at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
     
SALARY
$65,000 to $75,000
